India has been provided with and is distributing two vaccines namely OxfordAstraZeneca vaccine, known in India as Covishield, and a domestic product, Covaxin, developed by the pharmaceutical company Bharat Biotech. But as far as I know, personally, most of the people who have not accepted are in favor of getting the vaccine shot for themselves as they fear when something is new it is stupid to volunteer like lab rats. And not to forget the 2 deaths of patients who were given the vaccine have also influenced a lot of people in having negative thoughts about the vaccine. But according to me, a vaccine is an inevitable part considering the prevailing diseases found.
This vaccine is too would not be any new case but in 5 - 10 years this would become a mandatory vaccine to prevent covid like the prevailing vaccines for chickenpox, polio, etc.... this vaccine is getting much attention and there was some desperate need of a vaccine not a mere 5 months ago but still a common misconception and fear fill the minds of people, I would say illiteracy may also be a reason for this but some educated people I know have also rescinded to get the vaccine for themselves. Influences are found a lot these days and most are found in none other than social media. Where they make believe people a lot that is not true which is a topic for another essay. While in this topic I've seen a lot of memes comparing the vaccine to a recently made videogame that was made in a rush, so the message from the memes is basically that the game was trash and faulty because it was made in a rush, and the other thing made in a rush is covid vaccines so they might not be safe and working too. So even though there's a desperate need for a vaccine during this pandemic, people still mock and are feared by it.
The common misconception about the vaccine is increasing day by day. They aren't the ones to be blamed too as there is too much fake news passing by already and there is not much assurance of the vaccine being really effective and no one in a higher power too doesn't seem to volunteer to take the vaccine for themselves and earn people's trust. This being said they too are not in a position of getting tested as the vaccines should be tested by proper scientists and these recent deaths though they have been claimed to have nothing to do with the vaccine, still creates fear inside almost everyone's minds, so the vaccine and it's fear being polar opposites will still take time to come together and yet it's been almost a year since the quarantine being implemented and more than a year from the first case of covid. Time being said still stands as a factor in both the betterment of the vaccine and overcoming the fear of it. And I think both are going to come out as they have to in the future. So what we, learned is that having developed so much in science and technology and every other human way in the time we still are scared for our lives whether it be the disease or its vaccine, the irony...
