Benjamin said that an investment in knowledge pays the best interest. Knowledge is a hard topic to get around to. However, I believe that gaining knowledge is related to being educated. Education is important. It paves your way into the future and makes individuals better in decision-making. It is the topic of endless debates, whether it is a privilege or a right. Nonetheless, I am confident that I am qualified to go into a college or university and gain enough experience and knowledge for a college degree.
My name is Kyla Francesca Rafols, currently studying at Evans Community Adult School to get my high school diploma. I am about to graduate this June and I am hoping to get this scholarship to at least help my parents provide for my college fees so they don’t have to worry about how are they going to pay for it. Getting into college is important for me because I believe that it will assist me in achieving my goals for the future. I came from the Philippines and I completed Junior High School in a private school. Throughout my years in high school, I received awards, participated in numerous activities, and was an academic awardee during quarterly convocations. Additionally, despite being a Filipino, I am fluent in the English language.
Studying and getting a degree is one of the most ideal ways to reach a sense of fulfillment and to be able to provide for my family. However, it may not be possible due to some circumstances. We can only fill our necessities for daily life by receiving assistance from our distant relatives. My mother is currently unemployed since she’s suffering from different kinds of ailments and from the side effects of the medicines that she needs to ingest. And so, in no way will she be able to finance my college education.
I believe that getting into college will open more opportunities for me to become successful in life. Being educated improves the value and excellence of one's life. By gaining experiences through education, I will be able to manage challenges that life may throw at me. I may be able to solve my current problems by facing them through a long-term process called studying. Good education eradicates poverty; which is being felt by many, including my family. We may be able to get by every day; however, there is still a sense of insecurity that lurks in the back of our minds - an uncertainty that may be diminished if I can continue my education. By getting a college degree, you may be able to get a satisfying job that pays well. You may be able to afford a good home, clothing, food, and other necessities in life.
Education motivates self-assurance and provides us with the things we need to partake in today's world. It makes us more independent and aware of what is going on in the world today, along with the awareness of opportunities and rights. It offers a greater understanding of one's capability and potential as well. Since finding one’s self is a great achievement to consider.
