Kathak Bollywood Dance by Svetlana Tulasi and choreographed by Kumar Sharma is the first dance work that I have chosen because during the dance performance, the female dancer performs fast, balanced, slow, and gentle movements with her feet in space; which further enhances the uniqueness of this piece. One of the most valuable and beneficial aspects of this dance form is that it provides individuals the opportunity to learn more about different cultural heritages and its unique history. In addition, this cultural dance informs the audience how different emotions and narratives are incorporated throughout this piece.
Kuchipudi Dance on Guru by Lasya Mavillapalli is the second dance work that I have chosen because this classical dance provides individuals the opportunity to enhance their knowledge about various dancing styles, which includes acrobatics; and learn more about the values and traditions of other cultures. For instance, during the dance performance, the female dancer performs precise and balanced movements with her feet (the direction of the feet is diagonal). Furthermore, this dance form is very unique because it displays how the female dancer expresses her devotion to divine individuals/beings.
Jive performed by Peter Krastev and Janine Roffle is the third dance form that I have chosen because it enables the viewers to expand their knowledge about the different styles of dancing that are present in different cultures. During the dance performance, the male and female dancers both perform fast and strong movements with their arms and feet in space. Furthermore, the combination of fast, strong, slow, and balanced movements informs the audience that different traditions, values, and beliefs can also be incorporated within this cultural dance.
Viennese Waltz performed by Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough is the fourth dance work that I have chosen because during the dance performance, the male and female dancers both perform balanced and gentle movements by dancing slowly in space, which makes this piece very organized and unique. The most unique aspect of this dance form is that it informs the audience about an important message that even when challenges may arise, one should unite together and become resilient. This indicates how the theme of unity is present between the male and female dancers.
Contemporary Dance which is performed by Bethany Mota and Derek Hough is the fifth dance work that I have chosen because during the dance performance, the male and female dancers both perform slow and gentle movements with their arms and feet in space. The soft music playing in the background and precise dance movements makes this piece very unique and strong because it displays how the male and female dancers perform the dance movements in an effective manner.
