The sports culture is a very crucial element of the general college experience in most colleges. Several colleges attract students based on their academic reputations and capabilities but research shows that there is a good number of colleges that attract students due to their sports culture reputations. The University of Alabama and Oklahoma University possess strong sports cultures and evidence shows that they also hire talented athletes in the states starting from the high school level. Despite the fact that these college athletes attract considerable amounts of revenue and publicity for their colleges, the only compensation they get in return is full college scholarships. However, this behavior is outdated and unfair and should be halted since it downplays the athlete's contributions and encourage them to drop out of school to join professional athletics leagues where their efforts can be acknowledged and appreciated. Therefore, college math; it's should be paid for their athletic activities in order to instill a sense of fairness in them and attract substantial social economic dividends for the colleges.

College athletes attract considerable amounts of revenue to their colleges and thus deserve to be paid. They should be treated equally the same way the employees working with for-profit corporations are entitled to pleasant salaries and shares from the organization's profits. According to research conducted in 2014, it was evident that an average revenue of 144.8 million was collected from the top ten colleges in the United States and only $ 12.4 million was spent on college scholarships. This evidence clearly shows that colleges that have strong sports cultures do not compensate their student employees fairly. From the results, the amount spent on students' scholarships was less than 10% of the total revenues obtained from college athletes sporting activities.

Athletes should also be paid similarly to the way commercial venture employees are normally paid. It should be noted that these colleges perceive the sports programs as commercial ventures thus giving no justification for not paying the college athletes. Apart from selling sports game tickets, the colleges also gain considerable earnings from merchandising like the Sports Jerseys which are adorned with star athletes' names. Additionally, the colleges earn substantial revenues from the fees obtained from commercial broadcasters like ESPN, TBS, and TNT. Therefore, if the colleges fail to pay these student-athletes, then, they will be treating the college athletes as sources of free labor which is very unfair and against humanity.

Further, college athletes should be paid since by paying them, they are likely to stay in school as opposed to dropping out. Most of the student-athletes come from poor social-economic backgrounds thus increasing their probability of dropping out of school to join professional sports groups where they can earn a living. If the colleges can start paying the college athletes, the rate of student-athletes dropping out is likely to be minimized which also implies that college sports fans will also have the opportunity to watch the college athletes' games longer. This will help both the students and colleges as they can attend live games where their favorite athletes are playing. Therefore, paying college athletes is right and enables the colleges to reap the benefits of their star's economic powers for a long.

Being an athlete cannot be equated with a full-time job and this also applies to the case of college athletes. College athletes have to wake up early even when they don’t have classes to attend the sports sessions and also tend to travel to different places where the matches are held. These activities are similar to those performed by professional sports league athletes yet the [professional athletes are paid millions for the tasks. Likewise, college athletes are also entitled and are part and parcel of the scholarship sponsorship contracts the schools may be having with corporations like Nike. College athletes should be treated fairly as student employees since they are normally recruited in the college leagues based on their athletic potential as opposed to their academic potential. Consequently, paying college athletes can inspire them to perform better both academically and in athletics. Colleges should develop innovative solutions like performance bonuses geared towards inspiring athletes to perform better. College athletes should also be compensated since they are more susceptible to to serious injuries in athletic activities which may jeopardize their projections in non-sports careers or professional leagues after college. Therefore, paying them can help in improving the college sports programs' track records as well as boosting their performance in the athletics field

College athletes also deserve to be paid since the action is likely to stop corruption in the athletic field. Despite there being rules against corruption in the athletic field, shoe executives, agents, apparel representatives, and coaches mostly conspire in paying recruits in order to join specific colleges. This practice is normally out of the public eye since every person involved in the process reap some direct benefits and the payments are normally done secretively. Using money to manipulate high school students to hire particular business managers or choose specific programs is a felony-level act. Therefore, paying college athletes can help in limiting the corruption menace in the industry which can also minimize the costs associated with investigations across the board.

Additionally, paying college athletes can help in lowering tuition rates. Paying for college athletes' fees does not imply b that the costs of other students go up automatically. For some colleges, the cost can even go down. Best athletes competitions can help in creating an improved college program across the country. This can promote the upgrading of athletic facilities to promote more enrollments. Although the most wealthy colleges would be better placed to attract more enrollments, people can also reap the benefits associated with lower costs sib=nce the systems would necessitate increased efficiencies to be productive for a long.

Moreover, through paying the college athletes, the college athletes can cr the credits which can be used towards graduation the work-study programs can complement earned credits while complementing college tuition fees. The athletes can use the program's skills and concepts to improve their educational experiences. Depending on the programs set up, it can also help them in graduating in their course of study faster.
