‘The Dark Knight’ directed by Christopher Nolan, is a very action-packed superhero movie that is fun for people ages 12 to 35. This film tells the story of all the crime that happens in Gotham City and the beginning of the Joker, an insane, but an ingenious and detailed crime planner. The Joker, who is destroying the city, is fighting against Batman, the vigilante of Gotham. Batman, along with district attorney Harvey Dent, is trying to stop all the crime taking place in the city, while also struggling to balance his life as Bruce Wayne and his life as Batman. These events cause Harvey Dent to turn into the villainous Two-Face. ‘The Dark Knight’ is clearly a brilliant movie for all superhero fans around the world to enjoy. This is a magnificent movie because of its great sound and well-developed characters.

‘The Dark Knight' is a very creative movie with its memorable dialogue and dramatic music. ‘The Dark Knight’ has several movie quotes that are hard to get out of your head. One example of a great movie quote from ‘The Dark Knight’ is, “You either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain”. This was said by Harvey Dent during the dinner with Rachel, Bruce, and Bruce’s date. This line is kind of ironic because it is foreshadowing Dent’s fate as he becomes the villain Two-Face after he loses his lover Rachel Dawes. He was a good guy, but then turned into a bad guy because of his burnt face and his bride-to-be’s death. Another important quote from the movie is, “Some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn”. This line was said by Alfred Pennyworth when he was talking to Bruce Wayne. This quote is explaining how the Joker is dangerous and unpredictable because he does not want the things an everyday criminal wants; the Joker just wants to bring out the worst in people and create chaos. He doesn't care about materialistic things that most criminals want to acquire. Next, I want to talk about the music that plays in the background when the action is happening. The music is not just there for no reason. There is a meaning behind every movie’s background music. An example of the background music in ‘The Dark Knight’ is the song ‘Watch the World Burn’, composed by James Newton Howard. This song plays as Two-Face holds Gordon and his family at gunpoint. The song ends when Batman tackles Two-Face. The title is from when Alfred describes the Joker by saying, “Some men just want to watch the world burn”. The song is added in the background of the scene to make it more dramatic and heart wrenching. The song adds to the scene because you do not know if Gordon's kid is going to die or not so the music helps to make you sit at the edge of your seat waiting to find out what is going to happen. In conclusion, dialogue and background music add a lot to ‘The Dark Knight’.

‘The Dark Knight’ is also an amazing movie because of the well-developed characters. The first character I am going to talk about is Batman. Batman is the dark knight that the movie is talking about because he is the good guy and Gotham City's only hope for a peaceful and safe future. Batman is strong and brave and refuses to kill ant human beings. He realized that Gotham did not have a real good police force so he took it upon himself to do their job correctly. In ‘The Dark Knight’ you see two completely different sides of Batman. One side is Bruce Wayne, who is softer and more understanding. Bruce Wayne is very conflicted about his feelings for his ex, Rachel Dawes. Bruce’s Batman side is harder and more serious. The Joker brings out an even scarier side to Batman, when they fight in the interrogation room. In the end, Batman does not care if he ruins his reputation, he just cares about the well-being of the city. The next character I will talk about is the Joker. The Joker is a crazy psychopath, a murderer and a criminal mastermind. He is twisted and delights in his own psychotic nature. He gets pleasure from tormenting the citizens of Gotham, and also terrorizing his fellow criminals. He will never kill Batman and Batman will never kill him because the Joker says that Batman completes him and Batman does not kill others. The third character I will talk about is Harvey Dent. Harvey Dent is the District Attorney of Gotham City and is an ally of Batman. He is corrupted by the Joker and turned into a psychotic villain named Two-Face. As Two-Face, Dent murders and causes chaos, but he is only a villain because he is driven by his grief over the loss of Rachel, his true love. He wants others to suffer the pain he is suffering because of her loss. He dies at the end of the movie and is remembered as a hero because Batman takes the blame for Dent’s crimes as Two-Face. The fourth character I am going to talk about is Rachel Dawes. Rachel is a Gotham's Assistant District Attorney. She is the former lover of Bruce Wayne's and she is now engaged to Harvey Dent. She is killed in the middle of the film because of the Joker and Dent, her fiance, never really gets over her death. The final character I am going to talk about is James Gorden. Gordon is an honest cop. He believes wholeheartedly in right and wrong, and knows who he is as a man. He is a loyal husband and a protective father. He does not break down in tears when his son's life is in danger. He is not happy with Batman's decision to take the blame for the murders committed by Dent and he is careful to tell his son that Batman is the real hero. At the beginning of the movie Gorden does not trust Batman, but when Batman saves his son, he understands Batman's purpose.

In conclusion, The Dark Knight is a really good movie based on the Batman DC comics. This was a great movie because of its great sound and well-developed characters.
