“Aliens definitely exist!! and they could be living among us on Earth”, says Britain's first astronaut. There are so many billions of stars out there that could support at least a tiny percentage of life. Will they be like you and me, made up of carbon and nitrogen? Maybe not. Just to give a glance on how life’s definition is varied, a 3D printer can reproduce itself, but we wouldn’t call it living. On the other hand, a mule is famously sterile, but we would never say it doesn’t live. Hence, this makes us think if there would be other living creatures out there and if they are trying to contact us.
People in the olden days believed and vouched that the earth was flat but then it was proven otherwise with science and technology. Aliens run along those same lines. Even with such advancements in technology it cannot be proven that we are either completely alone in this massive universe or not. There is so much debate weather or not aliens exist. Over the past few decades the ideas of aliens have morphed into a craze, that one has to ask themselves, “what is an alien?” With “aliens” being in Hollywood movies and roller coaster rides, what do we actually consider to be aliens? Is it a life form that doesn’t live on earth or is it a “little green man”? The media has totally changed the perspective of what foreign life forms are. Making them almost unbelievable. The term alien no longer has the mystery and excitement and possibility behind it, rather it has become a more colloquial term in regard to disbelieve. Considering the fact that there are movies and shows about aliens, one has to wonder, where did the idea of aliens come from?
For over a thousand years people have reported seeing strange objects flying in the sky. Today the unknown flying objects are known as-UFOs, that continue to visit us, on a regular basis or so some say. A large amount of recorded historical events of these occurrences have taken place to give the subject of UFOs recognition. In July 1947, something happened northwest of Roswell during a severe thunderstorm. Was it a flying saucer? Was it a weather balloon? What happened? Once it became public, the event known as The Roswell Incident - the crash of an alleged flying saucer, the recovery of debris and bodies and the ensuing cover up by the military. Soldiers fanned out across Brazel’s field, gathering the mysterious debris and whisking it away in armored trucks. If such a high secrecy is needed for an incident something humongous must be hiding behind the armor as there is never smoke without fire. This is how Area 51 became popular. Area 51 has become a focus of modern conspiracy theories due to its secretive nature and connection to classified aircraft research. The storage, examination, and reverse engineering of crashed alien spacecraft, including material supposedly recovered at Roswell, the study of their occupants, and the manufacture of aircraft based on alien technology, Meetings or joint undertakings with extraterrestrials.
On Dec. 26 of that year, the first sighting occurred when two United States Air Force members reported seeing lights falling to Earth over nearby Rendlesham Forest at around 3 a.m. According to an official Air Force memo that later documented the incident, the servicemen entered the forest to investigate and saw a metallic object giving off lights and moving around. The US Department of Defense has released three declassified videos of 'unexplained aerial phenomena'.
The Pentagon said it wanted to 'clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real'. Hence classified it as real and unidentified flying object.
In 1961 US radio astronomer Frank Drake developed an equation to help estimate the number of planets hosting intelligent life – and capable of communicating with us – in the galaxy. The Drake equation multiplies together seven factors including: the formation rate of stars like our Sun, the fraction of Earth-like planets and the fraction of those on which life develops. Many of these figures are open to wide debate, but Drake himself estimates the final number of communicating civilizations in the galaxy to be about 10,000.
Pre-historic rock paintings found at Charama, Kanker Chhattisgarh state depict human figures wearing suits similar to modern day space suits and drawings similar to flying saucers, each with a fan-like antenna and three legs. Vimāna are mythological flying palaces or chariots described in Hindu texts and Sanskrit epics. The Pushpaka Vimana of the king Ravana is the most quoted example of a vimana. Considering the fact that such objects are mentioned in olden texts and has been drawn in the caves during the pre-historic times gives us a base as to how people perceive the extra-terrestrial beings or how they may have been a part of our lives even.
Considering the fact that life can thrive in extreme environments and it involved quickly enough on earth, we can’t deny the possibility of it existing elsewhere too and can definitely think about the probability of an E.T raining it’s fingers to reach us!
