Hitler transformed Germany into a totalitarian state, “a political concept of a mode of government that prohibits opposition parties, restricts individual opposition to the state and its claims, an extremely high degree of control over public and private life. It is regarded as the most extreme and complete form of authoritarianism.”

Germany was reinstated as a totalitarian state, through Hitlers’ intentions, with an approach of psychological disillusionment, economic issues, political issues, the Nazi Party and tactics.

The principle reason and objective of the Nazi revolution was to establish a Volksgemeinschaft. “The purification and increase of the German “race” as well as its biological separation from the Jews, whose infusion of evil into the German bloodstream, the Nazis said, served to pollute and undermine Germany’s well-being.”

Hitler undertook a responsibility regarding the publicity and propaganda within a political party, the Nazi Party, formally known as German Worker’s Party. It represented “intense hatred” against the individuals, who dishonoured Germany by signing the Versailles Treaty, and misusing nearby complaints against a powerless government. He then later becomes leader of the Nazi party.

By the late 1920s, Hitler and his Party gained strength, due to growing disappointment with the decision of Weimar Republic (Germany’s government). His ascent of intensity and power began after the Reichstag Fire.5 Having obtained power of chancellor, he than declared it was a Communist plot, to assume control over Germany. His title, permitted the Nazi group to arrest and prison their political rivals aimlessly.4 Hitler used his position as chancellor to form Germany as, “a defacto legal dictatorship.” Hitler’s power was drawn from Psychological Disillusionment, utilising the sociology of emotions and dark charisma.

The arrangement of Versailles demanded Germany, a defeater power, to pay financial reparations. Germany were required to pay £6.6 billion, in reparations to cover non-military personnel harm, caused during the war. Germany simply intended this was an act to demolish their economy and starve their kids. The arrangement expected to have disarmament measures on their adversaries, by not allowing Germany to surpass in 100,000 men, aviation based armed forces were to be down and machinery to demolished, as well as enduring loss of territory, surrendering the entirety of its abroad provinces. Hitler claims it was a simple attempt to destroy their economy6 and destroying their association within the Austrian German nation. He addresses the 'Diktat' – an IMPOSED settlement and how “the treaty did not physically harm Germany, but it hurt Germany's pride - and it was this, as much as anything else.” Hitler provoked Germans by their anguish of the treaty through propaganda and censorship.

He controlled precisely what the German's saw or read. Radio, papers, magazines, books, theatre, films, music, art and volksempfangers (people’s radios) were issued throughout every city. Anything that was 'un-German' was prohibited, it soon became hard to express an opinion, which did not fit with the Nazi system.

In conclusion, the Nazis actions, such as the party restructure and propaganda of the “German Worker’s Party,” certainly played a role in their ascent to control, as well as the Weimar Republic fire, which was an additional key factor. The most significant action of Hitler, for transforming Germany into a totalitarian state, was turning into an extremist head, through the act of emotional sociology, propaganda and censorship, in which he controlled each part of the media to give positive perspectives on himself, giving him a voice to be heard. An approach to make Germany become hopelessly enamoured with him, he re-educated individuals into accepting that he was their saviour, a way out of sorrow and such issues they had experienced after World War one. Causing the German individuals to accept that they convey similar perspectives, this was the explanation for such a significant mass following; a supposed man to re-establish Germany back her pride after the Versailles Treaty being signed.
