“Youth are more than victims of poverty and downturn‒ they can be the agents of change.” said Ban Ki-Moon, the former Secretary-General of the United Nations, at the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) Youth Forum. Teenaged people are the strength of a nation which if wasted, can lead to economic devastation. Although employment among teenagers is not supported in most of the societies, it helps grow a healthy sense of self-esteem in them and aids in their metacognitive development. A common cause of lower self-esteem levels in teenagers is the feeling of being left out which ultimately causes depression. On the other hand, economic disadvantage on individual level (a frequently observed trend in people 16-22 years of age in the US) deteriorates self-confidence. A detailed report on depression, published by the World Federation of Mental Health on the 20 th anniversary of World Mental Health Day (Oct 10, 2012) enlisted that personal empowerment through setting goals and making choices for one’s own self helps in diminishing this sense of insecurity. Doing a job in one’s teenage years is a healthy step towards personal empowerment. It teaches responsibility and self-control. Controlling one’s emotions is a challenging task for a teenager. In the years of adolescence, the brain possesses high processing powers. Thus experiences gained through work in these years reap lifelong lessons. Such learning is impossible in a classroom where students are never exposed to anything like the challenges they will have to face in their adulthood. Working, as a teenager provides opportunities to learn, and makes an individual capable of taking on challenges in the ever-changing world. This plays a major role in the metacognitive (controlling one’s own thoughts) development of an individual. A suitable job allows him to make decisions on his own and learn from the outcomes. Furthermore, doing a job as a teenager cultivates a positive attitude towards the society. Hence, teenagers should work because it results in their personal and social growth which is essential in adolescent years.

Prof Robby is excellent. The paper is exactly what I need. She took a lot of stress off me as I’m struggling with this course. Work was completed a day early. I will have additional course work I need help with and I hope to use her again.

Other

The language was all around terrible. Word choice... sentence structure... everything. The arguments were poorly developed. How unsanitary conditions may lead to the transmission of diseases was poorly developed. How unsanitary conditions may lead to a deteriorating mental state wasn’t developed well. The paper was just terrible. I also asked for five sources to be used and only three were really used.
