What Is a Commercial Business?
A commercial business is defined as a business or individual who provides a
service or sells physical products. Commercial businesses are also defined as
an industrial, retail or commercial business office within the limits of a specific
city.
In order for a commercial business to be considered legal, it must have a
business license from the city in which it is operating. The business might
also have to be approved by the city’s Community Planning Department.
Before being issued a business license, business owners generally require
zoning approval. For any special conditions or restrictions, business owners
can receive a conditional-use permit.
