If one is prideful of their nation they will stand up to their country and die for what they believe in. Americans in this film betray their country by joining the Soviet Union and try stopping the Americans from attacking. However, toward the end of this film, Americans show their loyalty to their country by joining the 'Wolverines' and stopping the Soviet Union. This shows how powerful we can be if everyone joins together.
Red Dawn helps achieve a sense of unity as a nation despite our differences. People of different ethnicities are in this film but regardless of their beliefs and differences they all came together and fought for their freedom. This shows viewers a sense of nationalism because members are showing their concern about saving their national identity.
This film also shows a sense of nationalism by trying to save those who are captured and getting support from others. Instead of escaping and leaving everyone behind the high schoolers always go back and try to save those who are captured. There was an important part in the film where the father of two protagonists yells and tells them to go to war and die trying. This is important because it shows viewers to fight for what they believe and to fight for their freedom even though they do not stand a chance. Further on, there was a scene where the teens were listening to the radio and hearing the support of others and saying 'Keep on going patriots.' This motivated the teens even more
