The song I chose was See You Again. This song talks about how there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. For example, the lyrics “It's been a long day without you, my friend And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again” describe how one should always try to stay positive. In our society of today, the world always pessimistic. Almost every time, the breaking news is something of malfeasance and that one time where it’s about positivity, the event becomes forgotten in a week. Hence, I think that the underlying message and moral of the song is to always have hope no matter the situation. Another example are the lyrics “Damn, who knew all the planes we flew Good things we've been through.” These words tell me that one should look on the bright side of things, like looking on the half full part of the cup. I think that this song really wants people to know that you only live once, so fill life with positivity. I chose this song because I like to follow the values of what it believes, to believe in hope, positivity, and optimism.
When I listen to it, I get a great feeling filled with hopeful spirit. By choosing this song, I can reveal it’s meaning to others. That’s why I chose this song. The genre for this song is hip hop/rap. I think that this song is not typical of its genre for a surfeit of reasons. Firstly, not many songs nowadays have combinations of hip hop and rap. Also, the rap in most rap songs are mumble rap in which one can’t hear the words clearly while this song is on the contrary. The lyrics can be heard and contain meaningful words. A lot of hip hop and rap songs have materialistic lyrics which in essence have no morals. Finally, the audience for this song is open to anyone, from kids to seniors. This is because it talks about something we can relate to, having hope. Most hip hop/rap songs come with negativity. Negativity becomes disclusive to certain audiences. However, See you again is open to all that know how to focus on the good. I know this audience because I have many friends that love this song and they’re very optimistic. This song is very near and dear to me because of the reason it was written. It was written for the death of Paul Walker. He was famously known for being the star character in the popular Fast and Furious series.

Tragically, he died car crash while driving with his friend. Hence, his friend Wiz Khalifa with Charlie Puth wrote this song in honour of him. I think this song was made to keep joy in the world and for the Fast and Furious realm, it did. If one scrolls down the comments of the youtube video, they’ll see that his death was not in vain. It birthed the origins to this song. The youtube comments say “Paul Walker didn’t die, he just finished the race before us.” That goes to show the impact of this song. Even though he died, viewers of the song still concentrate on the light at the end of the tunnel. Plus, the likes to dislikes ratio is 13000:417. Therefore, this song wasn’t written normally, it was written with an origin story behind it. That’s why I think that it has one of the most views on youtube because people want positivity. And the most ironic part is, it wasn’t meant to be a song, it was meant to be a memorial yet it has so many hits. In conclusion, this is a great song to listen to and to learn from as it teaches moral values and stops negativity.
