There were many important leaders during World War II. They all had a significant impact during the war. Also, they played essential roles. To start off. The first leader is Winston Churchill. Winston Churchill was born in 1974. Later in his life, he became a member of the Parliament. Churchill impacted the lives of many people during this period of time. Before World War II started in 1939, he had warned about the rise of Hitler and the Nazis in Germany. Most people say that Churchill is best remembered for successfully leading Britain through World War. Churchill refused to surrender to Germany, and that gave the country hope. It also inspired them. Winston suffered from mental health during his lifetime. He became an unimaginable amount of people’s hero. He was bold, strong, and brave man throughout his reign. His speeches are some of the most famous in history. He even has a statue of his own outside Parliament.
To continue with the many great leaders during World War II, the next person that impacted the world was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in New York. He was the only child of his wealthy parents. Roosevelt was educated by private tutors and elite schools. As a dominant leader of his party, he built the New Deal Coalition, which realigned American politics into the Fifth Party System and defined American liberalism throughout the middle third of the 20th century. His third and fourth terms were dominated by World War II, which ended shortly after he died in office. Democrat Franklin Delano Roosevelt led the nation through the Second World War. Roosevelt built a powerful wartime coalition with Britain and the Soviet Union and led the nation to victory against Nazi Germany. His wartime efforts prepared the path for his successor, Harry Truman, to win the war against Japan four months after his death. He was elected to the presidency four times, serving from March 1933 until his death in office in April 1945. In his January 1941, State of the Union Address—often called the Four Freedoms speech—Roosevelt said the cause of the war was a fight for four universal human freedoms, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom from want, and freedom from fear. Roosevelt's expressions of the core values of a free and open society inspired many in the United States and around the world, even though he did not always live up to those principles. Roosevelt gave in to fear and racism when he issued Executive Order 9066 which confined 112,000 Japanese Americans during the war. Roosevelt was in poor health in the later years of his presidency. The combined toll of his struggle with polio and his role as Commander-in-Chief tired him. On April 12, 1945, Roosevelt died from a cerebral hemorrhage while visiting Georgia. His vice president, Harry S. Truman, took over the presidency. It fell to Truman to see the United States to final victory in World War II.

The next person is Emperor Hirohito. The Emperor played many important roles during his time as the Emperor. Hirohito was born in 1901. He served as the Emperor of Japan from 1926 until his death in 1989. During his reign, the Japan army landed a surprise attack on the US naval base at Pearl Harbor. He oversaw Japan’s rapid territorial expansion. Hirohito also imposed economic sanctions against the United States. This emperor was the longest serving monarch in Japan's history. Japan was part of the Axis powers. The Axis powers were Germany, Italy, and Japan. The reason this emperor lost power was because he died in 1989. He was known as this because he added legitimacy to the US military dictatorship after Japan was defeated. Emperor Hirohito was best remembered for leading Japan into a humiliating defeat in World War II. Even though he did not lead Japan to victory, Emperor Hirohito did not lose power or get removed for war crimes. Instead, he remained as the emperor until his death in 1989. The reason this man gained power in the first place was because of his fathers death. Japan bombed Pearl Harbor for more than one reason. One being that it intended to destroy important American fleet units preventing the Pacific Fleet from interfering with Japanese victories.
Continuing, the next important person is Hideki Tojo. Hideki Tojo was born on December 30, 1884. He held different positions in the Japanese military, but he is mostly known for being the Prime Minister of Japan during World War II. Japanese statesman and general, prime minister (1941–44). He was chief of staff in Manchuria and minister of war. As prime minister, Tojo approved the attack on Pearl Harbor and was responsible for all aspects of the war effort. Once the American forces finally arrived to Tojo’s house, Tojo shot himself in the chest as an attempt of suicide. Although Tojo intended to end his life by shooting his heart, he ended up shooting into his stomach and failed to kill himself. Tojo was then arrested and had an emergency surgery in a U.S. Army Hospital. Later on, Tojo would be tried by Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal for his war crimes during World War II. Tojo would be found guilty of crimes such as causing war with the United States and the deaths of millions in the Eastern Asia region. As punishment Tojo would be sentenced to death. Tojo would finally be executed by hanging on December 2, 1948. Overall Tojo played a important role in World War II because he would lead many crucial events in the war. An example would be Tojo’s authorization of the bombing of Pearl Harbor. When the Japanese planes bombed Pearl Harbor, many of the ships that belonged to the United States were destroyed. Most of all battleships were heavily targeted because they were highly valued during this time period. The bombing of Pearl Harbor was a crucial event because it immediately switched the mindset of the American people at the time. Before the Pearl Harbor attacks, many Americans preferred an Isolationist policy of not being involved in the affairs of other countries. But because of the attack, the isolationist agenda was suddenly dropped and the United States suddenly joined forces with the Allies to fight the Japanese and the Axis Powers. Thus the authorization of the Pearl Harbor Bombing would be crucial to World War II because it would bring in one of the biggest players in the war: The United States of America.
