As the science progressed and enlightened many minds with knowledge beyond the limits of saying that it has a boundary, the level of questioning increased, and Humanity started to question their existence into this vast cosmos of what we know as ‘emptiness’ or in more comprehensive words ‘Universe’. At first we saw people sharing their ideas, in forms of different expressive cultures; dating back to 2nd Centaury AD, by the name of ‘A True Story’, Lucian of Samosata shared the tales, in form of a novel, that can be well described as mere-fiction (which includes in travelling to outer space, and different Alien-forms etc), but it is the first ever Sci-fi Fiction novel that we know to this date. It tells us about the fact that people were actually looking at the vast emptiness, and there interest was driven to the skies and the so-called Space. Imagining, illustrating, drafting and trying to solve this mystery with their mythology and cultures combined, accepting the question of our existence and our planet in this boundary-less void, Journey of Space science and its development started.

This is just one example which helps us understand that a space for such thinking was present since then, but initial start of space science developed during the time period of Scientific Revolution. Astronomy became a different path and in many ways in this period around the middle of 15th century and 14th century, scientists from different fields were combining their respected knowledge with this new path, creating new ways of thinking, new ways of learning and enhanced ways of understanding. The geocentric theory which was revolving around the table of thoughts and thinking since the time period ancient Greek, was going to be changed by the laws of Newton in ‘this’ time period of scientific revolution; the ‘Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica’ (Latin for Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy), a published book by Isaac Newton shared a brief and valid knowledge of concepts and Things like Universal Gravity, Planetary Movement and other things that were giving us enlightenment about Universe as a whole and its mechanical functionality, giving us a clear view of what we were going to achieve is not clearly a joke.

In the Early 20th century, the theory of Relativity changed everything. Represented by Albert Einstein, this theory helped humanity realize about what and how the gravity actually worked, giving us the idea of how the earth’s gravitational pull functions and how other celestial bodies have their gravitational force dependent on the amount of mass they have. It was then that Humankind started to think of many theories and thoughts, and one of them was space exploration. Space science invited a mass number of scientists and people as a whole, and we even saw governments being very supportive towards these thoughts and theories proposed for example the government of USA established NASA, and Soviet Union’s Space Program, and later on other nations taking a step forward towards this cause of not just Space exploration and astronomical achievements, but for the learning of benefits that could be given to humanity through it. Ideas were proposed to send people outside the atmospheres of this planet and on April 12th 1961, Yuri Gagarin from Soviet Union on his Vostok 1, completed one successful orbit around the earth, meaning that the space race was started and the idea of exploration in the 20th century was a dream come true for the people who proposed this idea centuries ago. It was getting people’s attention and a massive boost from the organizations that were inviting scientists to participate. And on 16th of July 1969, spaceflight of Apollo 11 successfully landed two humans on the surface of Moon, and this was the first time that we ever stepped out of this planet, a great step towards success of space science and Humankind.

Humans can reach out to other celestial bodies but some are out of reach, it extends far from our limits, and for scientists there is no boundaries like limits so astronomical observatories were made, and by 1990 we launched one of the most important and modern telescope in an orbit around earth to observe astronomical wonders, the Hubble Space Telescope, which is in function to this date, helping us to get a better sight on different celestial things which are really a wonder of their kind. Not just this but observatories which are present on this planet, can all make up one huge telescope by combining their data from several very-long-baseline interferometry stations around Earth. A great example is Event horizon Telescope, which helped us gather data from different telescopes around the Earth and made us see what we thought was impossible to ever be seen; first ever image of Black Hole.

Space science has always inspired ideas and concepts and led them to its very core of understanding, even though we lack so much of knowledge today about our universe, we still struggle to know about it, and seeing the enthusiasm all around the globe, all the past theories and tales about travelling to outer space and stuff seems very near to human potential. Stephen Hawking tells us about science and general understanding that and I quote ‘Science is not only a disciple of reason but, also, one of romance and passion’.

Through our consciousness research and programs we are helping people travel this inner journey to unity, a journey needed now more than ever in this ever-changing world. How do we thrive in these times of upheaval and uncertainty? The change starts within each one of us. We must adopt a new worldview of interconnectedness, recognizing the oneness of all that is, so we can begin to heal ourselves and bring new possibilities of unity and hope to our world.
