These are the best years of your life, so don’t waste them! While you are in college, you should enjoy yourself as much as possible when you are not studying. Here are five ways you can have fun in college.
Learn to Travel on a Budget
Travelling is one of the best ways to have fun in college. You do not necessarily have to spend a week in Paris, but you can find some interesting places nearby to visit with your friends. When you are not busy get together with your pals and search the internet for local attractions and state and national parks near your university. These locales will be great places to visit for a weekend or over Spring Break.
Get Involved in a Sport
Sports is a great way to stay healthy and make lifelong friends. You don’t have to walk-on to the college football team, but you can find athletic activities on and off campus, such as soccer or pick-up ice hockey, where you can play your favorite sport. It’s fun, it’s cheap, and it’s a great way to stay in shape.
Join a Club
In addition to sports, another great way to be sociable and have a good time is to join a club. College campuses have numerous organizations you can join where you can engage in your favorite hobbies with other students who share your passions. On my campus we had everything from Bible study societies to a kayaking club. There is definitely going to be a club at your university where you can meet like-minded people
Learn a New Skills
College is a great place to learn a new, fun skill, because not only are there classes that can teach you the things you’ve always wanted to learn, but there are thousands of people around you with all sorts of different skill sets. The next four years of your life will be a great opportunity for you to learn how to play an instrument, learn a programming language, or learn anything else that piques your interest.
Do what makes you happy!
What is it that you want to do? This is the question you should ask yourself because no one knows how to spend your free time better than you do. Take the time to engage in some self-reflection in order to decide how you will spend the best years of your life.
