What kind of questions can I expect in my interview? Ice-breakers: 1) If you could start your college career all over again, what would you do differently? 2) What are your hobbies? 3) Who is your hero and why? 4) Discuss a book that you’ve read recently for pleasure. Why did this book interest you? 5) If you won the lottery tomorrow, what would you do with your winnings? 6) How would your peers describe you? 7) Who would you say has been the most influential person in the last 100 years? 8) What are the things that you value most? How do they align with your decision to enter this health profession? Questions that demonstrate your cultural competence and ethical thinking: 1) Describe a time that you worked with a population that was much different from yours. What was that like? What did you learn? 2) What do you believe to be some of the most pressing health issues today? Why? 3) What do you consider an important/the most important social problem facing the United States today and why? 4) Is today’s healthcare system in the United States fair for all? Why or why not? 5) How do you feel about euthanasia or medically assisted suicide? 6) To what extent do you feel that you owe a debt to your fellow man? To what extent do you owe a debt to those less fortunate than yourself?
