He does not even care about what happened to Myrtle. His only consigned with protecting Daisy and making sure she does not get in trouble. He hid the car and took the blame for what happened to Myrtle. “‘Was Daisy driving?’ ‘Yes,’ he said after a moment, ‘but of course I’ll say I was.” (154) Tom Daisy Mr. Wilson Nick When Tom heard about the crash, his first instinct was to vindicate himself. He told Mr. Wilson he wasn’t the person driving the yellow car. Tom was sad about the death of his mistress. He was angry with Gatsby (whom he thought had killed Myrtle). “In a little while I heard a low husky sob and saw that the tears were overflowing down his face.” (151) Daisy's emotion is not clearly shown in the book but exhibited in her actions. Daisy does not stop the car after hitting Myrtle shows she was panicked at first. After escaping the crime scene, Daisy did not feel anything about killing Myrtle, known by what Gatsby tells Nick. “‘I thought so; I told Daisy I thought so. It’s better that the shock should all come at once. She stood it pretty well.’” (153) Mr. Wilson is shocked and devastated. He is sad about losing his unfaithful wife. He had a dream of life happily with his wife-Myrtle- which shattered when she died. He is not even able to keep his cool when talking to the police. “[George’s] eyes would drop slowly from the swinging light to the laden table by the wall and then jerk back to the light again and he gave out incessantly his high horrible call. ‘O, my Ga-od! O, my Ga-od! Oh, Ga-od! Oh, my Ga-od!’” (148) Nick was angry at Gatsby. At this point, Nick is convinced that Gatsby is a criminal. He was surprised that Gatsby could do such a thing. He was so pissed that he refused to stay for supper-at the Buchannan’s- as he is fed up with Tom and even Jordan. “I disliked him [being Gatsby] so much by this time that I didn’t find it necessary to tell him he was wrong.” (153)
