Objective: Factor а trinomial with a= l Factoring Trinomials when а= 1 (in the form х2 +Ьх+с) When we factor. we are trying to rewrite а second epolynomial as the product of Z first deqree Ьinomials. There is а pattern that always appears when we're factoring. Example .... (x + 2)(х + 3) = х 2 + 5х + 6 sooo the factors of х 2 + 5х + 6 are (х + 2) and (х + 3). Notice that the 6 comes from (2)(3) and the 5 comes from 2 + 3. Example: Factor Example #2: Factor because there are no integer f actors < f с that add to Ь.
