1. Describe the perspective, or point of view, of the authors of the Declaration of Independence and the philosophical assumptions underlying their argument. Within the Declaration Of Independence the author's perspective was majorly placed on the people's point of view. The author's main point was that not one person should have all the power to control a nation. The power should be split for the benefit of all the nation's people and if the people don't like the ones in charge they should have the right to change the government. 2. The key claim in the Declaration of Independence-the claim on which the revolution was based-is in the second paragraph. Identify the claim an describe it in your own words. The key claim of the Declaration of Independence is that every human has rights that can not be taken away and if a government tries then the people should have the power to overthrow said government and replace it with one they choose to let govern them. 3. What role do the facts "submitted to the candid world" play in the argument? In the argument the author uses the struggles that the newly states make to make a point about having the freedom to start a new government where the people are in charge. 4. What is the purpose in the argument of paragraph 31, beginning with "Nor have we been wanting..."? The reason for the argument within paragraph 31 is to resent the reasons for leaving Great Britain, and to justify that they left the old world for the new world for reasons already known to the British and it seems unfair to have to follow rules from a parliament that they were trying to get away from. 5. Describe the final claim made in the Declaration of Independence. The final claim of the declaration of independence was that the people of the states were tired of Great Britain placing unnecessary taxes among them, and the unfair ruling of their newly developed nation. The declaration stated reason for their leaving but the main claims were that the people wanted to choose their own way of government.
