The body need iron as a mineral for growth and development. The protein found in red blood cells called hemoglobin is made possible only by iron. Your body uses these red blood cells to carry oxygen throughout it. CAUSES OF LOW IRON People end up having low iron from not consuming enough foods with iron, chronic blood loss, pregnancy or trong excersise. Lack of energy or tiring easily (fatigue) Increased heart rate (tachycardia) Sore or swollen tongue. Enlarged spleen. A desire to eat peculiar substances such as dirt or ice (a condition called pica) TREATMENT You can treat your low iron by consuming foods vitamin C, eating red meats and beans (Proteins), cook plant sources of iron like different greens. You can also get blood tested to see for sure and take supplements if needed to help boost iron levels.
