The era of good feelings refers to the period after the war of 182, where
there was economic instability, but the name given to this was mostly
accurate due to the political unity.
The high tensions that emerged from the violation of American
neutrality on the high seats were more influential and cause disputes
on land that led to the Warhawks wanting to declare war on the British.
The development of democracy between 1820-1840 was due mostly to
changes in electoral policies which led to development of universal
white male suffrage, however the Jacksonian economic policy
contributed as well.
