J = Flux = (moles or mass) / (surface area * time) = mol/cm²s or kg/m²s Rate of change of mass per time across a certain area. High flux = more molecules travel through an area. J = (1/A) * (dM/dt) M = mass diffused J = slope of the graph (M vs. t) Steady state diffusion: when flux doesn't change with time, only diffusion distance changes. Driving force of a phenomenon: the difference in concentration of both sides (if they were equal, no diffusion would happen). Concentration profile: how concentration changes with distance. Gradient of concentration: (CA - CB) / (XA - XB) Direction of diffusion: from higher concentration to lower concentration.
