Along with saving money on shipping, speed (39%) and convenience (28%) were the two main reasons people said they used BOPIS. This suggests that good BOPIS services let customers get their orders faster than shipping and make the process as quick and easy as possible so it fits perfectly into their schedule. Retailers can take advantage of the fact that people often buy things on the spot when they are in the store to pick up something. Almost all shoppers (85%) say they've made another purchase in-store while picking up an online order, and 15% say they do it "somewhat often." In other words, BOPIS is not only wanted, but it can also help bring in more sales. Retailers might be able to make an extra sale if they study what kinds of things people buy on the spot in-store and put those kinds of things near where people pick up their online orders. In the future, stores might want to offer discounts on future purchases when BOPIS is used. This could encourage more BOPIS orders. Fourteen percent of shoppers say that being able to get "deals or savings on future purchases" is the main reason they would use BOPIS more often. Stores should really think about giving this incentive because it could help them make more sales and get customers to come back. The promise of a discount can make people use BOPIS over and over again to keep getting the incentive, which leads to strong repeat business.
