Overview of General OCR Program Guidelines Quizzes Unit Tests Final Exam Passing % Must score 70% or higher No limit No limit # of Attempts Two attempts before facilitator intervention; one additional attempt after facilitator intervention One attempt only One attempt only Access/ Time Limits May take quizzes offcampus; no time limit May only take tests during class period; only have one class period to complete May only take final during class period; only have 90 minutes to complete Notes May use all notes on quizzes May only use responses on the written unit tests as your notes for computer test (English students may use all notes) May only use front and back support supplement Format Usually 10 questions (M/C, T or F, Check Box) Usually 25 questions (M/C, T or F, Check Box) Usually 25-35 questions (M/C, T or F, Check Box) Special Situations Facilitator may choose to lock your quizzes offcampus under certain situations All English students must take written unit tests All Math students will take traditional class final exam rather than APEX Exams Additional Guidelines Navigating through Course Read APEX lesson while taking Cornell Notes + other notes using specific organizers If enrolled in Math complete each lessons practice problems in APEX Packet Take quiz using any notes you have taken; if you fail quiz two times please complete the quiz reset form and wait for your facilitator to insert an extra academic support. While you wait, please re-read notes. If enrolled in English complete extra writing exercises for certain lessons in APEX Packet Final Exams • Count for 20% of your final overall course grade • Max one attempt and only may use a front and back support supplement as notes on exam • Will not be allowed to take final exam unless all your coursework is completed including quizzes, unit tests and extra Math or English packet activities Other • • • You may not listen to music while working on your course this includes watching YouTube Videos. You will not be allowed to take a unit test until you have shown your facilitator adequate notes If you begin to fall significantly behind, your facilitator may require you to meet with the credit recovery coordinator (Mr. Pygman). The two of you will create a final plan to help you get back on track before you become further at-risk for either failing to pass your course or being removed for inadequate progress.
