Reflection
Mr. Robert Jones is 52 year old Mexican American who is admitted to the orthopedic unit for
total knee arthroplasty. He condition is stable and code status is full. He is allergic to shellfish
and he allergic reaction is rash. He has colonoscopy an it was normal. He is consulted for
physical and occupational surgery after surgery. He reports a pain level of 4/10 for right knee and
he has limited strength to the right lower extremity. He was a smoker and smokes half a pack
cigarettes a day for 32 years, quit one week ago. He reports calf pain and calf cramping and pain
level is 8/10. During assessment, we found redness/warmth to the right calf and 1+ pitting edema
and RLE limited strength was 3/5. Early ambulation was necessary and PT/OT consult. His vital
signs were as follows: Heart rate- 72, respirations- 24, temperature- 98.6 F, blood pressure122/76 and SpO2- 98%. This was the first ihuman case study so I had mixed emotions about this
and I was confused at the start but adapted and did great on health history and physical
assessment. As I moved forward to analyze par, I was confused and scored very bad and actions
part was terrible as well. The professor explained how to analyze the priority questions in the
ihuman and that helped a bit. I would rate my experience on the ihuman as 4/10 as I didn’t know
what to do and didn’t understand it properly
