After reading the account of the resurrection of Christ in Luke 24 and in Chapter 6 in The
Beginning of Wisdom, express why the resurrection is so important to the Christian
worldview.
After reading Luke 24 I now have a better understanding of the resurrection of Jesus. It talks
about how Jesus dies and was put into a tomb. On the third day after his death a group of women
went to his tomb to bring the spices they had prepared. When there, they saw that the tomb was
empty. This is when Jesus had been risen from the dead. The resurrection of Jesus is important to
the Christian worldview because it proves their faith in God and the religion. If the resurrection
hadn't had happened, then many would have lost their faith. It is also important because they
believe and now know that Jesus died on the cross so that sins could be forgiven.
According to the Christian worldview, how does one gain eternal life? Use Bible verses to
support your response. How does the Christian concept of the afterlife differ from that
concept in other worldviews?
Within the Christian worldview, Christians believe in Jesus Christ. By having faith and believing
in God, this guarantees humans eternal life. It states this in John 3:16, "For God loved the world,
that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosever believeth on him should not perish, but have
eternal life."
Christian’s belief in themselves being accepting to the afterlife is by them doing good and
behaving in the way the Lord would want them too. By following and having faith in God
ensures for eternal life. Other religions believe in an afterlife, but some in different ways than
others. I know that Buddhism believes in the rebirthing process. And other religions believe in
reincarnation after death.
