Human TrafÏcking Human trafÏcking is one of the most horrific social problem we face not only in America but worldwide. The numbers of people who fall victim to human trafÏcking has grown at an alarming rate; 2.5 million people will fall into human trafÏcking every year (Vejar, 2020). Human trafÏcking can happen to anyone, but the most at risk is women and children. Human trafÏcking is anyone who is forced to obtain and job or sexual acts against their will. Most victims of trafÏcking were set up, kidnapped, or promised something to lure them in. There are many factors that can cause society to influence human trafÏcking. Although, trafÏcking can happen anywhere extreme poverty and lack of supervision can contribute to children falling victim to trafÏcking. TrafÏckers look for the most venerable, the easy targets, the people that can disappear unnoticed. They look for people that have had a rough life, the people that don’t have job or educational opportunities, the people that are homeless of on the verge, and sometimes even mothers willing to sell their children for money. Another high influencer is the high reward with low risk; meaning the act of buying and selling humans is extremely profitable and its really hard to get caught because most transactions are down on the black web and there not many ways to track these transactions. Also, the mass volume of people involved plays a factor, there are very important people in the world that have been caught in human trafÏcking (Vejar, 2020). The face of humankind isn’t what it seems, there is dark entities that lurk right under our noses every day. Human trafÏcking best fits under the conflict theory. This is because you have a strong group of people some normal people other elite public figure of the world these are the trafÏckers, the ones buying and selling the people. Then you have the other group, the victims that are getÝng prayed upon. An important thing to understand is that trafÏcking is a large highly organized operation. There are tiers to the trafÏckers. You have the high ups, the wealthy, the ones actually getÝng paid to buy and sell humans. Then you have the workers, the people that actual hook, kidnap, ect. the victims and the you have the victims, and others in between. These are large highly organized and motivated people who prey on the weak and vulnerable (Vejar, 2020). Conflict theory comes into play because the more wealth or socially involved someone is the higher risk they are going to be. For example, a child from a single mother with multiple children who lives in extreme poverty, who is more than likely involved in other illegal activities is going to be an easier target than a child from a wealthier area in a two-parent house hold who is involved in school spots. The poverty child, as less guidance, mom is probably gone a lot trying to work and make money, while the middle class, or wealthy child that has both parents and is involved in school activities is going to be a much higher risk. Many things play a role in who is picked to be a victim of human trafÏcking, it is up to us as a society to put and end to it.
