Quadratic equation
The general form of a quadratic equation is:
q x² + b x + c = 0 2
where ab and Care Constant and is the Variable
The quadratic Formula is used to some quadratic equations and it is given by
x--b±√ b²-4ac 2
20
This Formula gives the Solutions for when ax² + bx + c = 0
Example
Solve the equation 212-5x+2=0
Given a = 2, b = -5 and C = 2
Plug these values into the quadratic Formula
=-(-5)± (5)-4.2.2 2.2
X=5±25-16 A
X=5±9 4
X = 513 4
The gives us two Solutions
X1 = 6+3=&= 2 4
x2=53== 4 4 1
So the Solutions to the equation 2202-5x+2=0,
1 are X = 2 and X = ½
