Formative assessments are a great way for students to engage in their own learning while giving teachers the feedback she needed. It helps students target the week areas and work on improving it. Formative assessments give students the chance to review and correct their own work, which will increase their motivation toward reaching their goal. Students can monitor their learning and take responsibilities. One example of formative assessment that can help students engage in their learning is self-assessments. Students will be allowed to evaluate their work using rubric and circle the areas of weakness. This can help students identify the areas they need to pay more attention to and ask for help. Another way is by using exit ticket. Students will be handled a slip after the end of the lesson that have questions provided by the teacher. It is another great way to engage students and provide all important evidence of students learning for the teacher. It also helps teacher plan instructions.
