Nevertheless, it can be challenging for women to locate mentors who can guide them through the intricacies of corporate structures and connect them to powerful networks. Equally important is sponsorship, which is top executives actively supporting and elevating deserving staff members. Women may find themselves without the assistance they need to become more visible, receive access to crucial meetings, and make significant introductions—all of which are critical for professional advancement—if they lack mentors and sponsors (Murrell & Blake-Beard, 2017). For women hoping to climb corporate ladders, prejudices, gender biases, and a dearth of mentorship combine to create a complex obstacle. Organisations must work together to solve systemic problems and advance gender diversity and inclusion in order to remove these obstacles. Businesses must put in place procedures and policies that aggressively combat prejudice, offer equal chances for career advancement, and foster cultures that value and support women's leadership potential. Targeted leadership development programmes that emphasise female empowerment and equip them with the abilities, know-how, and connections required to excel in executive positions are one way to solve these problems. These programmes can assist women develop the skills necessary for high-level roles by providing training in subjects including negotiation, strategic decision-making, and leadership communication. Organisations might also set up official sponsorship and mentoring programmes that pair up potential female leaders with senior executives who can help guide them and support their career progress. Furthermore, breaking through the glass ceiling requires organisations to cultivate a culture of inclusion and diversity. In order to achieve this, regulations that promote work-life balance and family-friendly behaviours must be developed. Additionally, the underlying prejudices that impede women's advancement must be confronted and altered. To hold themselves accountable for advancement, businesses might adopt training on unconscious bias, encourage openness in the recruiting and promotion procedures, and establish quantifiable diversity targets.
