The Earth is constantly changing as we continue using energy that flows through its system. Our normal traditional power relies on non-renewable resources (such as fossil fuels, and hazardous chemicals, etc.). Over the previous years, scientists have been trying to find a way to make the Earth cleaner, and safer to live on. We face many challenges like natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. As that goes on experts search for solutions but the number one solution is using renewable resources, most importantly solar energy. According to the US EPA, OAR, and Climate Change Division. “Solar Energy | a Student’s Guide to Global Climate Change | US EPA.” Epa.gov, 9 May 2017, states that “Solar energy is simply the light and heat that come from the sun.” In other words, solar power uses pure energy from the sun, which is the cleanest energy on the planet. Using solar energy can help contribute to a healthier global climate. Global climate is the average of temperatures and precipitation over a long period of time. Solar energy contributes to helping shift our climate and decrease chemicals in our atmosphere that destroy our zones. In conclusion, solar energy is a superb source of energy because it does not contaminate the environment; it is inexpensive; and it is renewable.

Even though Solar energy and panels seem very high-tech and expensive, solar energy has proven to decrease bills due to electricity. According to “Prices and Factors Affecting Prices - U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA).” Eia.Gov, 11 Mar. 2021, it states that “Prices vary by locality based on the availability of power plants and fuels, local fuel costs, and pricing regulations. In 2020, the annual average electricity price for all types of electric utility customers ranged from 27.55¢ per kWh in Hawaii to 7.51¢ per kWh in Louisiana''. Many things come to play when the cost of electricity is involved each month. One factor is fuel, fuel increases when demand is high which causes fuel prices to rise. Next is weather conditions, in the summer electricity doubles due to the need for extra air when it's really hot. In the winter it's the same but instead, we need heat to stay warm. And lastly, it is system maintenance. Take care of our grids and repair lines when they are damaged due to winds from hurricanes or tornadoes. A thunderstorm can cause tree limbs to fall which causes workers who know how to operate to come out and fix the lines andor transformers. This confirms that installing new solar installations from square one will and having it operating will lower the use of hazardous fossil fuels. Thus, solar energy is inexpensive because you are using natural sunlight to power your house instead of power lines and fossil fuels.

Additionally, the world faces problems with energy due to the rise of the population. The more people the more the demand for energy is needed. As a nation, we steadily use non-renewable resources (fossil fuels, natural gas, nuclear energy, etc.,) to meet these demands. Even though it makes us happy because we're happy we meet the demands of our nations, it is a disadvantage. It is a disadvantage because producing this non-renewable energy releases toxins into the earth's atmosphere which contributes to heating the earth. With this being said the world has produced a solution to create renewable resources which is where solar energy comes into play. A renewable energy resource means that we are using energy from a major source (the sun) and that it is endless. According to Noah. “Is Solar Energy Renewable? (Interesting Comparison) - 2022.” Surge Accelerator: Power Generation
