Interspecific and Intraspecific Competition Competition is a fundamental force in shaping life on Earth. This presentation explores the two primary types of competition: interspecific (between different species) and intraspecific (within a single species). We will explore the dynamics of these competitive interactions and their impact on evolution. What is Competition? Competition occurs when organisms struggle for the same limited resources. This struggle can be for food, water, shelter, mates, or territory. Competition is a key driver of natural selection.
