INTERIOR COMMUNICATIONS ON THE ISLAND OF EL HIERRO, CHARACTERISTICS AND EVOLUTION This communication's main goal is to discuss the analysis of El Hierro's road network in connection to the creation of space as well as the general territorial model (systemic). Our premise is based on the idea that road infrastructures and the territorial organization they produce are the outcome of historical processes that are influenced by social and economic structures operating above and beyond physical factors. El Hierro's communication channels are hence geographical features identified with a particular socioeconomic system and set of social relations of production. In this message, we shall attempt to prove this theory. To achieve this, we will first provide a general explanation of El Hierro's social structure, then move on to discuss the features and applications of the conventional road network, and lastly highlight some aspects of the contemporary internal transportation industry's building process. It must be made clear that we have been compelled to identify the sources and concepts within the time frame that spans the last decades of the 19th and the early decades of the 20th century for "spatio-temporal" reasons unique to the event. illustrative stage of a scenario that persisted until the 1960s of the previous century, but with logical variations. We aim to incorporate those more modern elements towards the end of the speech in future interventions.
