He belonged to the Rosicrucians and the Baha'is; but his entry into Freemasonry occurred on December 11, 1929, at the Fernandina Lodge of Jagua, and by May 8, 1930 he had received the second degree; On March 24, 1930, he was initiated into the Oddfelows Order "Knights of Light". From then on, he consecrated his life to local Freemasonry and "where he raised his plume highest".3 He knew and deeply loved Martí's life and work and on May 19, 1930 he gave a lecture on José Martí in Fernandina de Jagua, as a warm tribute of admiration and respect to the memory of the Apostle.4 He belonged to the Liceo Canario and was among its directors and the Nuevo Centro Canario de Las Vegas. The central words of the event were in his charge, where he expressed: I want to explain, -the sole object of these pages-, the reason for this testimony of gratitude and affection, which has had such a warm reception, not only among the most outstanding figures of the Spanish colony, but also of the society of Cienfuegos (...). When the initiative was launched by a group of members of the Canarian colony, eager to externalize in some way the Lcdo. F. Thus, in 1931, he wrote the tenths that he titled Tenerife:9 The sea that kisses the naked fire does not cease to flow, the kiss is latent, I knot it to my chest to walk. The nostalgia he felt for his homeland together with the critical situation that Cuba presented in those years, and the vicissitudes of life returned Tejera to its beaches in 1933, where he continued his journalistic work. In this, as in most cases, it is clear that: "The return of the emigrant would be the culmination of the objective migratory process that most of the time is not fulfilled, almost always the emigration becomes definitive, without achieving the success that was desired before leaving".
