INDIVIDUAL COURSE ASSIGNMENTS MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM Material: Determining the Initial Steps for MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM Automation If you were trusted to build MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMautomation in an educational institution, what steps would you take? ANSWER: Information systems have five main components, namely: 1. Hardware components 2. Software components 3. Human resources components 4. Computer network components 5. Data source components MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMautomation means implementing or moving forward by utilizing a number of applications that can save human work resources from being converted to machines. In the five main components that make up an information system, one of them is the human resources component. This means that in building MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMautomation in an educational institution, the first step that must be taken is to educate the people in the institution so that they understand and are more technologically literate. You can imagine if MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMautomation was implemented and the people involved did not understand how the information system works, it would be the same as in vain, aka the project could be said to have failed. As we know, the idea of building a school information system is very close to the basic concept of education in Indonesia. In Indonesia itself, the education system according to Law number 20 of 2003 states that education is a conscious and planned effort to creating a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential. The basic concepts of system design and application development are carried out according to standard education implementation guidelines issued by the National Education Department (DEPDIKNAS) and also based on survey results at several educational institutions (schools and school groups) both public and private. Which means the next step is to conduct a survey of the educational institutions where the MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM will be implemented. Apart from preparing human resources in educational institutions, we must also be able to ensure that educational institutions are ready to implement information systems in their place in accordance with the two main components that make up the information system itself, namely software components and hardware components. As additional information, there are eight management information subsystems, namely: 1. Profile information system (school portal) 2. Personnel information system 3. Facilities and infrastructure information system 4. Financial information system 5. Student information system 6. Academic information system 7. Library information system 8. E-learning system
