PLANNING, RECRUITMENT, STUDENT SELECTION A. Student Planning According to the online KBBI, planning is the planning/process, method, act of planning (designing). Rifa'i (2018, p. 31) explains that "Planning is thinking ahead about what needs to be done". Hakim and Mukhtar (2018, p. 24) explain that "Planning is a systematic and orderly arrangement of steps to achieve organizational goals or solve certain problems". "Planning for students involves planning for new student admissions, graduation, number of dropouts, and transfers". (Badrudin, 2014, p. 31) "Includes activities, analysis of student needs" he continued. Meanwhile, according to Rifa'i (2018, p. 23) "Student planning is an activity of thinking ahead about things that need to be done regarding students at school, both since students will enter school and they will graduate from school". Thus, problems that arise can be handled as soon as possible From these definitions, it can be concluded that student planning is an activity of thinking ahead by designing things that must be done regarding students at school, both since students will enter school and they will graduate from school. What is planned are things that must be done regarding student acceptance until student graduation. B. Student Recruitment "In essence, student recruitment is the process of searching for, determining students who will later become students at the relevant school institution". (Badrudin, 2014, p.32) according to Jones and Walters (in Hakim and Mukhtar, 2018, p.98) "Recruitment is a planned activity in attracting a number of qualified individuals needed to carry out the tasks in a school operational institution". According to Rifa'I, (2018) participant recruitment is essentially a process of searching, determining and attracting prospective students who are able to become students at the relevant educational institution/school. He stated that the steps in this activity include: 1) forming a new student admissions committee which includes all elements of teachers, TU staff and the school board/school committee; 2) making and posting announcements of new student admissions which are carried out openly. The information that must be included in the announcement is a brief description of the institution, new student registration requirements (general requirements and special requirements), registration method, registration time, registration location, registration fee, selection time and location and announcement of selection results. C. Student Selection “Student selection is an activity of selecting prospective students to determine whether or not prospective students are accepted as students at educational institutions based on applicable provisions”. (Rifa’i, 2018, p.32). Accepting new students is the initial gate that students and schools must pass through in filtering educational objects.
