Definition of Teacher In general, in Indonesian, the definition of a teacher refers to a professional educator with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating students. Meanwhile, in Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning teachers and lecturers, it is stated that a teacher is a professional educator with the main task of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, assessing, and evaluating students in early childhood education through formal basic education and secondary education. From the several definitions above, it is clear that a professional teacher is a person involved in education whose task is not only to transfer knowledge from teachers to students but more than that. Teachers act as substitutes for parents at school whose job is to direct students to achieve educational goals and make them become whole human beings through exemplary examples, enthusiasm or encouragement to be better and guidance or direction so that they are always on the right track in developing their potential. Teachers have a burden or task to develop the abilities of students in order to improve and educate the life of the nation, such as the educational objectives stated in the 1945 Constitution paragraph 4, namely to educate the life of the nation. B. Definition of Human Relations and Group Process Effendy (2009:50) states that human relations are persuasive communication carried out by one person to another person face to face in a work situation and in an organization with the aim of increasing enthusiasm for working and working together in order to achieve satisfactory results. Group Process refers to how members of an organization work together to get something done. Then Shaw (in Nimran, 1999), argues that group process is a relationship between two or more people who interact with each other in such a way that the behavior and performance of one person is influenced by the behavior/performance of other members. C. Principles of Human Relations There are several principles that are implemented in public relations or public relations, including: • A teacher is expected to be able to create a fun teaching and learning process • In implementing learning, not only pursuing the achievement of educational goals, so that it forces students to study and do their assignments, even though teachers should also pay attention to psychological aspects, social aspects, and other aspects of students • Developing students' talents, interests and desires to the maximum • Implementing an interesting and challenging learning process • Appreciating the results of efforts • Equipping yourself with learning media that are relevant to the material to be taught • Having harmony between your abilities and the subjects you teach • Giving fair evaluation results to students D. The Influence of Human Relations on Teacher Performance Human Relations activities bring a breath of fresh air to the work atmosphere that can affect teacher performance to be more productive. This means that Human Relations has a significant influence on teacher performance competency in teaching. The group process approach is seen as the right step to explore student learning motivation. The group process approach can also help teachers in creating effective and productive classroom conditions. E. The Influence of Group Process in Teacher Teaching In this approach, teachers encourage group development and cooperation, so that the group process can maintain an effective class organization in the form of creating familiarity between students. With this group process approach, some students feel they have a responsibility to be the best for their group. F. The Role of Teachers in Implementing Group Process 1. As a manager Teachers as learning managers, teachers play a role in creating a learning climate that allows students to learn comfortably through class management. As a learning manager, teachers have 4 general functions, namely: planning learning objectives; organizing various learning resources; and leading and supervising. 2. Teachers as mentors Teachers as mentors guide students to determine the various potentials they have as their provisions, guide students to achieve and carry out their development tasks, so that with this achievement they can grow and develop as ideal human beings who are the hopes of every parent and society. The teacher's job is to maintain, direct and guide students to grow and develop according to their potential, interests and talents. 3. As a motivator Teachers as motivators, the learning process will be successful when students have motivation to learn. Therefore, teachers need to grow students' learning potential. To obtain optimal learning outcomes, teachers are required to be creative in arousing students' learning motivation. 4. As a provider of advice and assessment Teachers as assessors play a role in collecting data or information about the success of learning that has been carried out. By conducting an assessment, the teacher will know or determine the success of students in achieving learning goals. And also teachers can determine the success of each program that has been planned by the teacher himself.
