Answer: Communication is one of the important factors in an open organizational system that influences how an organization runs. The definition of organizational communication itself has been defined by various communication experts, some of which are as follows: • Organizational communication in its definition can be divided into two perspectives. In a subjective perspective, organizational communication is the organizational behavior that occurs and how those involved in the process transact and give meaning to what happens. While in an objective perspective, organizational communication is the activity of handling messages contained within an organizational boundary. • Organizational communication is the organizational behavior that occurs and how those involved in the process transact and give meaning to what happens. • Organizational communication is the exchange of information between people in an organization, where the process generally includes the following stages: attention, comprehension, acceptance as true, and retention. a) Of the three definitions, the same essence of the three definitions is that all three agree that organizational communication is an interaction process involving two or more people as a form of information exchange between one another. b) One of the functions or purposes of organizational communication is as one of the variables that can increase work motivation and member performance in achieving organizational goals. Creating and/or improving employee performance is not easy because employee performance is formed through various variables that influence it such as motivation and communication. Therefore, why is organizational communication important to be carried out properly in an organization. 2. There are seven key concepts in communication, namely: process, message, network, interdependence, relationship, environment and uncertainty. In your opinion, why are these seven concepts considered important (key concepts) in organizational communication? Explain! Answer: In my opinion, in the process, these seven concepts cannot be separated from one another, because they all play an important role in the running of a good communication process. In the communication process, a sender or communicator tries to ensure that his/her messages can be received by the recipient (communicant) according to the wishes and goals of the communicator. The communication process involves seven concepts, including messages, networks, interdependence, relationships, environment and uncertainty. The message in the organizational communication process is what the leader or communicator is and wants to convey to the recipient/member or communicant. The network itself is the broad nature of the scope of communication that will be produced. Interdependence is another communication concept, namely a state of interdependence between one and another. The communication environment can be divided into an internal environment and an external environment. The last concept of organizational communication is uncertainty, which is that there may be differences in the information given and the information conveyed by the mediator. Based on the explanation above, it can be concluded that the seven concepts are important concepts that cannot be separated and will always be interrelated. 3. The communication process is often ineffective or fails due to distortion/interference. Try to identify: a. What are the causes of ineffective organizational communication? Explain! Answer: Barriers in organizational communication can be divided into three, namely technical barriers, semantic barriers, and behavioral barriers. Technical barriers are barriers caused by various factors such as lack of facilities and infrastructure needed in the communication process, mastery of inappropriate communication techniques and methods, and physical conditions that do not allow the communication process to occur. b. What are the things that must be done so that organizational communication becomes effective? Explain! Answer: Basically, the expected end result of the communication process is for the actions or changes in behavior of the recipient or recipient to be in accordance with the wishes of the sender. However, in the process, the meaning of a message that has been given or received will be influenced by various factors that follow it. One of them is how the communicant or recipient feels the message according to its context. Where each individual or communication actor only acts according to their individual interests. b. This problem can occur because each communication actor only acts according to their individual interests. c. In my opinion, this problem is included in the classical theory. The reason is that in classical organizational theory it is defined that the most effective organizational work will be based on the personal interests of each individual in it. Just like the case where the principal did not act and do what he should have done as a leader. However, he did not do it because he thought it would not benefit him individually. d. The solution is that in my opinion the principal must resolve this and communicate it to both the victim (cleaning service) and the perpetrator's parents (parents of students). Each individual must eliminate their respective interests in order to achieve the desired problem solved.
