Quality Management Theory in Schools In the context of educational quality, the definition of quality refers to the educational process and educational outcomes. In a quality educational process, various inputs are involved, such as teaching materials (cognitive, affective, psychomotor), methodology, school facilities, administrative support, facilities and infrastructure, and other conducive resources. Quality in the context of "Educational outcomes" refers to the achievements achieved by schools in each specific period of time (whether at the end of each semester, end of the year, 2 years or 5 years, even up to 10 years). The achievements achieved can be in the form of academic or non-academic ability test results. Thus, it can be understood that education can be categorized as quality if it can be measured from its position to help educate the nation's life and advance national culture that has succeeded in forming a young generation that is intelligent, has character, is moral and has personality. According to Danim (2008) In the context of education, the definition of quality refers to input, process, output, and its impact. Input quality can be seen from several 4 sides, including the following: 1) The good or bad condition of human resource input, such as the principal, laboratory teacher, administrative staff, and students 2) Whether or not the input criteria for materials in the form of teaching aids, books, curriculum, school infrastructure and facilities, and others are met 3) Whether or not the input criteria in the form of software are met, such as regulations, organizational structures, and job descriptions 4) Input quality that is in the form of expectations and needs, such as vision, motivation, perseverance, and ideals According to Sallis (2006), the characteristics of a quality school include the following: 1) The school focuses on customers, both internal and external customers 2) The school focuses on efforts to prevent problems from arising, meaning there is a commitment to working properly from the start 3) The school has an investment in its human resources 4) The school has a strategy to achieve quality, both at the leadership, academic staff, and administrative staff levels 5) The school manages or treats complaints as feedback to achieve quality and positions mistakes as an instrument to do right in the next event or incident 6) The school has a policy in planning to achieve quality 7) The school strives for an improvement process by involving everyone according to their main tasks, functions and responsibilities 8) The school encourages people who are seen as having creativity, are able to create quality, and stimulate others to be able to work with quality 9) The school clarifies the roles and responsibilities of each person, including clarity of work direction vertically and horizontally 10) The school has a clear strategy and evaluation criteria 11) The school views or places the quality that has been achieved as a way to improve the quality of service further 12) The school places continuous quality improvement as a must
