F I H E B D A G J C K T F in different ways F T T T Open wounds increase the risk of infection because breaks in the skin are a way for bacteria and other microorganisms to enter the body. T Non sterile dressings are applied to dry wounds that have less chance of infections. Sterile dressings are required when the woulnd is new, open, or draining. They are also required when there is a higher risk of infection. Examples of supplies that are considered sterile include sterile dressings, drapes, and pads. If any part of the sterile field becomes contaminated, the entire process must be restarted.
