‭ ANAGEMENT OF AUTOMATED‬ M ‭ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION SYSTEMS‬ ‭ evelopments in information and communication technology (ICT) influence the‬ D ‭functioning of organizations in various ways, both when it comes to the implementation‬ ‭of primary processes and when it comes to the management and control of the‬ ‭organization at a strategic and tactical level. However, the influence in the‬ ‭administrative information systems is very dominant because this technology is‬ ‭integrated in almost all modern information systems and these information systems are‬ ‭also increasingly intertwined with the primary processes. This means that effective and‬ ‭efficient use of this technology requires a management organization in which the mutual‬ ‭coordination of quality requirements, processes, organizational units and stakeholders‬ ‭is of great importance.‬ ‭This integration means that information technology is increasingly becoming a normal‬ ‭part of daily business operations and of users' tools, partly due to the increased‬ ‭dependence on a continuously available and reliably functioning information system. The‬ ‭management of these systems is therefore of great importance, especially if this is‬ ‭translated into a greater input of requirements for their management in terms of service,‬ ‭user-friendliness and flexibility. This management is therefore no longer comparable to‬ ‭the management tasks within a traditional automation department or data center. Rather,‬ ‭there is a need for an ICT management department within which the various quality‬ ‭aspects are managed in a responsible manner, so that decisions regarding adjustments‬ ‭and changes to modern integrated information systems can be made taking into account‬ ‭all important aspects. Only in this way can the use of ICT in administrative information‬ ‭provision truly lead to added value for the entire organization.‬ ‭Introduction‬ I‭n this chapter we discuss the management of administrative information management‬ ‭systems, where internal control of information and communication technology (ICT) has‬ ‭become of decisive importance nowadays.‬ ‭ s an accountant you must test/check the controls within the IT organization,‬ A ‭otherwise the reliability of the information produced within the user organization‬ ‭c annot be determined. In particular, the ever-increasing integration of‬ ‭different information systems, both within and across organizational boundaries,‬ ‭requires central coordination.‬ -‭ ‬ ‭The application of ICT offers opportunities to significantly improve the quality of‬ ‭information provision through better and more efficient storage, search and‬ ‭selection options at data level and through the application of automated controls.‬ ‭ n the other hand, the‬‭threats‬‭and associated with icons are called:‬ O ‭-‬ ‭The application of ICT almost always entails significant investments in‬ ‭equipment, software and people that, if used incorrectly, will not perform to‬ ‭their full potential.‬ ‭-‬ ‭If there is insufficient security, the application of ICT makes the organization particularly‬ ‭ ulnerable to abuse by people both inside and outside the organization.‬ v ‭-‬ ‭The application of ICT can become vulnerable due to the great dependence on technology‬ ‭that is fallible, for‬ ‭example in the event of a power outage or other disasters.‬ ‭-‬ ‭Due to the almost unlimited possibilities for storing all kinds of data, confidential‬ i‭nformation about people or the organization can unintentionally become available to‬ ‭people who are not entitled to know it, which can lead to an infringement of privacy.‬ ‭ e distinguish the concepts of management and control. These are information‬ ‭ ystems that are used to provide management with periodic feedback on the‬ s ‭outcomes of primary business activities and to support administrative‬ ‭decision-making (such as periodic reporting systems, decision support systems (ad‬ ‭hoc), etc.). Modern developments, such as the creation of data warehouses and data‬ ‭mining techniques, also increase the influence of ICT in these systems.‬ ‭-‬ ‭Other information systems, such as expert systems, end user systems and‬ ‭strategic information systems. These are systems that support individuals in‬ ‭their personal‬‭activities (think of spreadsheet applications, etc.).‬ ‭The introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems‬ ‭ development has been underway for some time now in which the various types of‬ A ‭information systems mentioned above are being integrated. The aim is optimal use of‬ ‭data, preferably one-time and reliably recorded, rapid mutual exchange of data, and‬ ‭the ability to organize and analyze business data from different perspectives‬ ‭(financial, logistics, etc.). We call such an integrated system an Enterprise Resource‬ ‭Planning (ERP) system.‬
