My Father – The Person Who Inspires Me Everyone has had accomplishments in their life, and behind those accomplishments is someone who has had an impact on their life. My dad is my greatest influence for several reasons. He has always supported me, and the decisions I make. He has also showed me that success comes from hard work, he inspires me and taught me to always believe in myself. Whenever I am faced with a problem and must make a decision, I know that my dad will be behind me one-hundred percent no matter what I chose to do. It is a great feeling to know that someone is always going to support me in anything I choose to do. It takes away much of the stress that comes with making decisions. For example, right now I am at the point in my life where I have to decide whether I am going to attend a community college, a university, or whether I want to attend school at all. My dad reassured me that he would be happy with the choice I made, as long as it made me happy. Having him tell me that alleviated much of the pressure that I feel to pick a college. I did not want to disappoint him or my mom, and knowing that I would not, makes the decision a lot easier. He is very optimistic, he always seems to find the positive in every situation. If I ever doubt a choice I made, I talk to him about it and he always makes sure to point out all the good things that can come from it. Success comes from hard work, energy, dedication, and a support system. My dad is one of my biggest support systems and role models. My dad inspires me to work hard because he has had to his whole life. He was the only one in his family to decide not to attend college. My grandparents did not support this decision and often gave him a hard time for it. At 19 he was working two jobs and struggling to make ends meet. Somewhere between then and now he managed to build up his own business as an entrepreneur. I admire the dedication he had towards himself and his future. he believed in himself that he could, and he did. In conclusion, I have been influenced by my dad to do well in life. He has taught me that in order to succeed, you need to have self-confidence, people who support and most of all be dedicated to what you are trying to accomplish. I strongly believe that without him by my side as my father, role model, and supporter that I would not be who I am today.
