Also, attract allies. What is the message of this source? Describing the racial inequality and unequal rules and practices. He sits in a white-only seat on the bus and get arrested, mistreated but try to teach and persuade white policeman using the non-violence method. Why was this source created? To describe the common social injustice and systematic racism in the US. And to teach people how to agonist and resist this kind of injustice and racism using the non-violence method. It contains facts, opinions, and interpretations. Not only what he did but also his opinions and ideologies. What type of source is this? It is an article. Is this source credible and accurate? I think it is should be credible and accurate. Since it documented what happened on Rustin, if it's not true, there will be a lot of evidence to indicate it's fake, (the police will say something) but I searched online, nothing to be shown like this. How is this source valuable to me? It is valuable since it teach me the truth about what happened in the past and the huge inequality between races in the US at that time. Related closely to other sources this week, all resistance to white supremacy and inequality, and using non-violence method. Compared to what we learned last few weeks I feel like black people in this era are braver due to decreased lynch and higher economic and political status. It also emphasizes the legacy of the past, the Jim laws. It is a story about how to transfer and make rude white supremacists respect you and black people, which we never read before, what we had last few weeks are the only suffering and pain of black people, and white people, especially authorities look unsavable (unchangeable). As a result, Rustin got some of the justice he want and the society needs.
