Compounding Debt: Cat Insanity Game Theme: What does it FEEL like to be swimming in overwhelming debt? Play this game to experience a lighthearted version of compounding debt, and then answer these questions. Part I: Play the game, Cat Insanity Part II: Reflect When you have finished playing, reflect on the game by answering the questions below. 1. How did you choose your cat? I picked my cat based on low cat feed per day and low rate of reproduction. I picked izzy 2. What was your strategy as you played the game? Describe whether this changed as the game progressed. My strategy at first was just to use my mouse and click all the cats I can. This was taking too much time so i used the touch screen feature on the chrome book to use both hands to click faster. 3. How would you describe your emotions as you played the game from start to finish? My emotions as I played the game were determined to keep all the cats alive. But as the rate started to build up I saw that wasn’t possible. At the beginning I thought it would be easy because I only had to feed 2 or 4 cats but at the end I was left having to feed 20 plus cats. 4. Cat Insanity demonstrates how it feels to pay a high-interest loan. Using the “Let’s Break It Down” section at the end of the game, write in detail how playing Cat Insanity is an analogy for debt repayment. The cat’s rates increasing mean that there will be more expenses , so if you're in debt your debt will increase because you'll have to spend more. Not feeding a cat can cause the point to decrease, which is like a late payment fee you get when paying a bill late, and killing a cat will affect you forever, showing you're not the best cat owner.
