If Only he had kept to himself, none of this would have ever happened. Oh, my apologies. You must not have any idea of what is going on. I am Montresor. The man I speak of is named Fortunato. We are extremely close; one would even say best friends. Up until now, you see I have been wronged by him. Back when we were no more than in our thirties, I had met an amazing woman. We got along very well and began to get close. I guess my dear friend Fortunato, like one, would say got jealous. He felt as if we weren’t spending any time together like we used to. I didn’t get why he would say such a thing. We hung out at least twice a week at the local Pub. On someday, I would even get out of work and go straight to my dear friends’ house. I realized that we were getting more distant as time went, I thought nothing of it and kept going on with my life. One day as I was talking with my wife I got a call from Fortunato saying how we haven't talked in a while and to meet up at the pub. I didn't think anything of it as we always used to hang out there. We met up and had a few drinks and were having a great time. He offered to pay for my drink, which I thought was weird since that had never happened. Thinking he was being a great friend I said yes. After a few minutes, I started to feel groggy and couldn't get up. As I was trying to call Fortunato to ask him what he had done to me and ask for help, I saw him talking to a lady in the corner. They started approaching me and picked me up and took me to a room in the back that I had never seen before. All of a sudden he leaves me and the lady starts to undress and get on top of me. As I was trying to push her off of me I couldn't, all the energy I had, had disappeared. So I try to yell, but as I open my mouth nothing comes out. I start to panic, what the hell has he done to me? I think as I slowly fall asleep with her on top of me. I woke up the next day alone in the bed feeling very confused and angry at Fortunato. When I tried to get up my body felt so sore and all my clothes were off. Starting to panic again I put my clothes on and rush home. As I enter my home to tell my wife what has happened I see Fortunato sitting on the couch trying to comfort her as she was crying. Feeling so angry I rushed over to him and started punching his face. My wife starts pulling me off of him while still crying and yelling at me. As Fortunato was bleeding on the floor, I asked my wife what had happened. She started yelling saying how could I have done that to her, that she thought I loved her. I started telling her that I couldn't remember anything and that Fortunato had done something to my drink. Her not hearing anything I had said ran off to our room and packed all her bags and walked out the door. All I could think about as I saw her close that door was how I would ruin Fortunatos life for ruining mine.
