Is CHAT CPT the end of writing? In the 21st century education is indispensable as many college students find it very useful to have a college education. There are many benefits of a college education; students get a major and develop skills to perform a job. Then, they become role models and useful members of their community. However, there are some challenges to getting a college education. Most students work full-time or are responsible for taking care of other family members or children, and they might not have all the time to focus on their courses. Moreover, some students need to take remedial courses to catch up with the regular curriculum. Several computer tools help students to be successful in college, such as some Web 2.0 tools - Facebook, and Twitter. Nowadays, an artificial intelligence program called CHAT CPT has been getting a lot of attention and criticism since most experts believe that it negatively affects education. The newly emerging technology tools should be approached with a lot of criticism because they inhibit (prevent) students to learn to write academic essays and acquire life skills, and they rob students of motivation to excel (to be excellent) in their favorite topics. New technology tools should be avoided in the education system since they do not help the student to improve their writing skills. One of the major objectives in college is to be able to learn to express oneself in writing and orally in the best possible way. Many students learn to make a clear argument, using evidence. When students take several classes, they might use artificial intelligence programs to help them compose their essays. There is a major pedagogical mistake in this initiative. Ms. Baron, in her article, “How CHAT CPT Robs Students of Motivation to Write and Think of Themselves” states, “AI, more generally, threatens student writing skills, the value of writing as a process.” In other words, relying on artificial intelligence does not give freedom to the individual to improve their writing skills. Doing assignments and making mistakes and revising is part of learning and is a very meaning exercise. As students work hard on their assignments, they might get frustrated and need to revise what they have composed. Thinking about the assignment, researching, revising build very important life skills in students. They learn to be disciplined and goal-oriented. They could become more focused on their work to learn. Perseverance, discipline, motivation to excel is part of success. The ideas is also discussed in Ms. Parker ……. Another significant idea mentioned is to give opportunity and motivate student to be excellent in the areas that they aspire to do best. Not every individual is the same; some are good in math-based sciences, and some are gifted in humanities and social sciences. Therefore, it is important for educators to give opportunities for student be do their best by relying on themselves. If educators push students to be perfect in every class they take; then, they are asking them to go beyond their abilities and get help from a computer to solve the problem. Ms. Parker-Pope mentions Dr. Ginsburg who believes, “parents also need to teach their children that they do not have bee good at everything.” Basically, students cannot be excellent in all subjects; however, they can pass their classes, but the quality of excellence cannot be seen in every subject they take. Some students are good in arts, so they can discover their own creativity and originality in arts or writing. They can express themselves beautifully. On the other hand, some students are very sharp in figuring out math-based sciences, such as a variety of engineering field. Therefore, learners should be motivated to do their best without the help of outside sources. If they are given opportunities to work hard and retry on a subject they enjoy, they discover their potentials in that field. To sum up, ……
