Paradise Lost Book 10 Summary Book 10 of John Milton's epic poem "Paradise Lost" continues the story of the fall of man, with Satan and his followers being punished for their role in tempting Adam and Eve. The book also includes a discussion between Adam and Eve about their future and a vision of the future of humanity. The book begins with God sending his angels to judge Satan and his followers for their role in the fall of man. They are punished by being transformed into serpents and cast into the depths of Hell. Back in the Garden of Eden, Adam and Eve discuss their future and the challenges they will face outside of the Garden. They also discuss their relationship and their love for each other. As they talk, they are visited by the archangel Michael, who shows Adam a vision of the future of humanity, including the birth of Jesus and the eventual redemption of mankind. Michael also reveals to Adam that the ultimate goal of humanity is to attain paradise once again. The book ends with Adam and Eve leaving the Garden of Eden, determined to make the best of their new life and to find their way back to paradise. Overall, Book 10 of "Paradise Lost" explores the themes of punishment, redemption, and the future of humanity.
