Enantiomer :-
A Pair of optically active isomert of a Compound are mirtitore image of each other and notates. Which PPL equally but in opposite direction, is known as enantiomere.
COOH

COOH
HO-
HO H + COCH

(II)
(Lactic acid)
I and II are ent enantiomert.
No of optical isomer = 2" wheree, n no. of Chiral C atom
e.g. 2-bromo-3-Chloro butane
C-CH-CH-CH 1 B CI
No. of Chiral & atom = 2 No. of optical is omen = 2 = 4
(Ⅰ,Ⅱ) (Ⅲ, IV) are enantiomers.
Properties:-
1. Enantiomeres en have Similar Physical Properties but different reefractive index.
2. Enantiomers have Similar Chemical Properties but different rate of reaction.
