BIOGEOCHEMICAL CYCLE The cycles through which the essential chemical elements. from the environment enter into the body of the organism ard. again goes back to the environment are called biogeochemical cycle. There are three types of blogeochemtral cycles: 1. Hydrologic cycle or water cycle 2. Gaseous Cycle 3. Sedimentary Cycles THE WATER CYCLE Water is one of the key constituents to life on Earth. About. 75% of our planet is covered by water or ice. The coater cycle is the endless process that connects out of that water. The water. cycle also known as the hydrocloric cycle or the hydrological cycle describe the continuous movement of coater on, of and above and below the surface of earth. Water change its state through a variety of process from evaporation, melting. freezing to sublimation, condensation and deposition. Froporation Liquid to Gas Melting Solid to Liquld. Freezing Liquid to Solid Sublimation Solid to Gos Condensation → Deposition Solid to Liquld. Stages of Water Cyrle Evaporation 1 The water cycle begin with evaporation. The sun is the ltimate source of the energy and it powers most of the evaporation. Evaporation generally happened when water molecules of the surface of the water bodies become excited and rise into the air. These molecules accumulated into Water vapeur cloud. Evaporation is also influenced by winde temperature and the density of the body of water. 2. Sublimation 1. Sublimation accur when snow or ice changes directly into water vapour without becoming water. It is as casual. as result of dry wind and low humidity. Sublimation con. be absorb on mountain picks where the air pressure is quite low. The low air pressure help to sublimate the snow into water vapoure as less energy is utilies in this process. 3. Condensation. Condensation is a process of a gas changing to a liquid. in the water cycle, the water vapour accumulated. in the atmosphere eventually cools down due to the low temparature this vapoures becomes tiny droplets of woder and ice eventually coming together to form clouds. 4. Precipitation 1 Above or the vapour will condens into water droplets Whan enough droplets merge it fall out of the cloud and unto the ground below this process is called precipitation. includes rain, snow and hail. 5. Infiteration Infitteration is the process of entry of water into the soil through the surface. The level of absorbation verlous based on the material. For example Rocks will absorb compar atively less then water will. 6. Run off If the water from rainfall doesn't form acquire fire it follows gravity often flowing down the sits of mountain. and hills eventually forming rivers, this process is called Run-off. It is extremely important because not only dors it keep rivers and lakes Pull of water, but it also changes the tandscape by it's action of erosion..
