ENDOMEMBRANE SYSTEM The endomembrane system is a structural and functional relationship mechanism between cell components, especially in producing secretory proteins and proteins for the cell's internal needs. Cells with all their working mechanisms and dynamics experience continuous changes, where cell life experiences many chromosome translocations with bubbles that are always moving in the cytoplasm. The working mechanism of cells is supported by the existence of cell organelles with specific structures and functions. Many of these cell organelles have membranes that are similar in structure and function, so they are able to show the interrelationship of working mechanisms between one organelle and another. The term endomembrane system is the relationship between the structure and function of cell organelles that are related in their working mechanisms. An example of a transport mechanism involving many organisms in a cell based on the results of research using labeling to determine the protein transport pathway appears in the journey of a protein called VSVG. The initial conditions are carried out by providing temperature treatment so that cell expression will occur which produces a hybrid protein (VSVG-GFP) which arises because of the limited temperature. VSVG-GFP appeared to accumulate in the ER, which was clearly visible by fluorescent staining and observed with a microscope. When the cells were then given the appropriate temperature again, VSVG-GFP was seen to move towards the AG, where concentrations of the protein were clearly visible at the edge of the nucleus, and then towards the cell surface. The research shows how long it takes for VSVG-GFP to be present in each organelle in the secretory pathway.
