Sociology notes Why the world is important People are basically social beings The social world is not outside of us, we take it inside We take social patterns according to permission, quantity and demand ● No sharing ● Interaction between individual and society world What is sociology? ● Sociologist research groups of all sizes ● Couples (e.g. romantic couples) ● Small groups (e.g.one family) ● large group (e.g., automobile industry) ● country (e.g., United States) ● global community (the world is an interconnected place) leadership ideas ● people have relationships ● have them. Being in groups most of the time ● Interpersonal and group interactions; each affects the other ● Groups have social structures, common behaviors, common expectations and common understandings ● Conflict and not yet changed Sociology and Sociology Common sense ● Common sense concepts appear to be understood only by qualified people.
